Bulgaria 2nd National Sewage Sludge Seminar organized under the main sponsorship of INEVA

Standing out with its innovative technologies in the field of treatment sludge disposal, INEVA Environmental Technologies came together with the participants at the 2nd National Treatment Sludge Seminar held in Starosel Complex-Bulgaria on September 27-28. INEVA was the main sponsor of the conference where 95 participants, including experts from the Ministry of Environment and Water Affairs, representatives of the Energy and Water Regulation Commission, managers of Water and Sewerage Administrations (SKİ) and managers of wastewater treatment plants, discussed energy recovery from sewage sludge, sewage sludge disposal methods, waste management planning and legislation processes.

İNEVA, which uses treatment sludge, which harms the environment and needs to be disposed of, as a valuable energy source in its own technology, also presented the model of the facility where electricity can be generated by using treatment sludge as a renewable energy source within the scope of biomass.

Speaking at the conference, INEVA Sales and Marketing Department Manager Oral Çimsöken stated the following: “Sewage sludge is a waste that carries dangerous viruses and must be disposed of sustainably. According to the Best Available Techniques Reference Document on Waste Incineration (BAT - BREF) of the European Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Bureau, we use fluidized bed technology as an innovative and open to development approach in our system, which safely removes harmful substances in the ecological cycle by processing sewage sludge at high temperatures. With the energy recovery method we apply in our facility, we prevent the use of fossil fuels and the disposal of waste in landfills, while preventing methane emissions. We can also provide hot water or steam energy during this process. While the steam energy obtained can be used directly, it can be converted into electricity by adding turbines if desired.

During the conference, Malina Krumova, Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Assoc. Prof. Stefan Shilev, Director of the Plovdiv Region Environmental and Water Affairs Administration, Eng. Oral Çimsöken stated that INEVA solutions, which are completely domestic technology, attracted great interest at the point where Bulgaria needs treatment sludge disposal solutions in one-to-one meetings with Ivan Ivanov; “As INEVA, we have been in Bulgaria for 3 years and we have been welcomed with great interest. Bulgaria is undergoing a transformation and in line with the directives of the European Union, they have an obligation to dispose of their wastes without storing them. In this regard, we are one of the companies that provide the biggest support to our neighbor and the treatment sludge sector. Our domestic and national technology is the most appropriate solution at the moment.
